Rare Photo between Messi and Lamin Yamal happened 16 years ago
Back in 2007, a cool thing happened when Lionel Messi met Lamine Yamal, of all people, when he was just a baby at Camp Nou in Barcelona. Leo wanted to snap a picture for charity, see?
At that time, Messi was just 20 years old but already making in football. Eventually, he turned into a super talented and accomplished player.
Who would've thought that the kid that photo would grow up to be a star in international football! Wild, right?
Messi helped give little Lamine a bath before taking the picture. Flash forward to now, both are making headlines at big tournaments.
Yamal scored against France during the Euro Cup semi-finals at only 16 years old. That's historic stuff right there! He tied the game after France scored and Spain ended up winning with another goal.
Meanwhile, Argentina made it to the Copa America final after beating Canada. Messi even scored in their victory! The final match is set for July 15th.
Cool story: Last week, Yamal's dad shared a photo on Instagram showing Messi and Lamine together as young talents. Interesting how their paths crossed long ago.
The photos were taken by John Monfert after UNICEF visited Yamal's town of Mataro. They won a chance for the photo op with a Barça player at Camp Nou.
Monfert mentioned how shy and introverted Messi was during the encounter with little Lamine. It was quite an unexpected moment for both of them.
