The collapse of the government after 18 months. The government led by Prime Minister Prachanda has collapsed. The Prachanda-led government collapsed after it failed to get a vote of confidence from the House of Representatives on Friday.
As a new equation was formed between the Congress and the UML in 17, the UML left the government. Prachanda, who was then in a minority, took the vote of confidence for the fifth time in a single term on Friday. However, the prime minister, who has won the vote of confidence four times, has failed this time and has gone to the opposition after leading the government for 18 months. A total of 258 MPs were present in the parliament, with only 63 votes in favor. A total of 194 MPs voted against it. Prachanda was appointed as the Prime Minister for the third term on September 11, 2017. Chairman Prachanda was appointed Prime Minister with the support of 169 MPs, including UML.
Fifteen days after being appointed prime minister, he first received the votes of 268 out of a total of 270 lawmakers in the House of Representatives on April 26, 2017. Two MPs voted against it. Nearly two-and-a-half months later, Prime Minister Dahal took a second vote of confidence on May 6, 2017, after all parties withdrew their support to the government. At that time, out of the 262 MPs present in the House of Representatives, 172, including the Congress, voted for the trust vote, while 89 MPs voted against it. One MP had a neutral opinion.
Prime Minister Prachanda took the vote of confidence for the third time after breaking the alliance with the Congress and forming an alliance with the UML on February 30, 2080. Of the 288 members of the House of Representatives present at the meeting, 1057 voted in his favour. 100 MPs, including the Congress, voted against it. One vote was neutral.

After the split of the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal, Prime Minister Prachanda took a fourth vote of confidence on 7 July 2018, after the party withdrew its support to the government. At that time, 1057 MPs had voted in his favour, while one MP had declared a neutral vote.
According to Article 100 (2) of the Constitution, if the party represented by the Prime Minister is divided or the party participating in the government withdraws its support, the Prime Minister has to place a proposal before the House of Representatives for a vote of confidence within 30 days. The Prime Minister addressed the Parliament on Friday.
